Why Cornerstone?

About Us

“It takes a village”…..For any project to be successful requires a positive synergy among the client, the architect and the contractor. Cornerstone Project Consulting sustains detailed communications throughout the project, succeeding in merging all parties’ goals toward the path to a successful project outcome.

Mission Statement

Cornerstone Project Consulting seeks to provide successful project management through effective communication, budget conscious bid solicitation, and strategic streamlined scheduling, while working to understand and fully support the client’s goals.

Alison Whitacre,

Owner and President of Cornerstone Project Consulting

brings 35 years of experience in project management and facilitation to the company.

Having earned her degree from the University of Michigan, Alison settled in construction management, initially working for a development firm in Washington, DC. She then moved to Annapolis where she became Vice President for a residential builder, ultimately landing as a Project Manager for a residential and commercial construction company for 10 years, prior to starting her own company in 1999.

As the construction industry has evolved, so has the knowledge of the consumer. Many clients desire a ‘do-it-yourself’ approach to their projects and Cornerstone’s goal is to support these goals while helping mainstream the process in the areas that require additional expertise by a seasoned contractor. These would include project specification development, bid solicitation and review, effective communication between architects, subcontractors and owners, and effective scheduling from start to finish.

Our goal is to provide clients in the Annapolis, Maryland area the education and resources needed to effectively manage a successful project while minimizing the large overhead and profits associated with hiring a general contractor.
